Have howling good fun this Halloween in North East Lincolnshire

The team from Discover North East Lincolnshire have unleashed a whole host of Halloween fun this year from dancing zombies to a new Spooking Out story trail, all of which are detailed on new pages on our website: www.discovernortheastlincolnshire.co.uk/autumn.

The new pages also feature a handy guide for where to pick pumpkins, kids’ Halloween parties, firework display listings and spooky October activities more suitable for adults (because it’s not just kids who love Halloween!).

New this year is the Totally Spooking Out augmented reality story trail. Discover North East Lincolnshire have teamed up with High Street Safari to run this special FREE trail in Cleethorpes town centre. This innovative experience lets families choose what happens in the story as they go around the ten locations. Using a smartphone, the aim is to hunt down and try on Halloween masks along the route. There’s lots to try including witches, zombies, mummies, ghouls and pumpkins. At each stop you’ll see the full characters burst into life using augmented reality.

The story trail will run until Monday 31 October and is available to play during usual shopping hours (many venues are closed Sundays and Mondays).  Once all ten have been found, you can download a free digital fun pack.

The Halloween Dance Trail is back! Using your smartphone, open the Love Exploring App and you’ll find the game is once again featuring for all three towns in North East Lincolnshire. Especially created for Halloween, watch as augmented reality life-sized skeletons, Dracula, Frankenstein, witches, a werewolf and zombies pop up and dance right in front of your eyes!  Use the map to find the Halloween characters and then answer their questions about Halloween from around the world. You won’t need to be a super boffin to play though, there is a hint to help you get the answer right!

The Halloween Dance Trail is available now until 31 October in Grimsby and Cleethorpes town centres and in other locations across North East Lincolnshire including Immingham. Other fun trails are still available to do this half term including the Dinosaur Safari, Space Walk and Tree Fairies.

Outdoor Cinema Experiences at Meridian Showground this autumn starts this weekend including the spooky comedy Hocus Pocus. Grab your tickets, chairs and blankets, wrap up warm and come on down! Friday night sees Elvis play out on the big screen, Saturday spooky fun with Hocus Pocus and Sunday it’s The Lost Boys.  There’ll be hot food and drink vendors available and tickets for the screenings are still available for each showing.
